Holistic Admissions Process: Rooting Out Implicit and Explicit Bias in the Admissions Interview and Application Process
Colleges and University continue to strive for a holistic admissions process. However, research has shown that colleges and university who employ interviews as part of their application process make it challenging to remove implicit and explicit bias from the application screening process. The session will provide key training tools that are needed for any applicant interviewer and best practices that should be deployed using cultural humility to reduce and eliminate implicit and explicit bias.

Second Learning Outcome: Participants will explore why cultural biases still exist in admissions processes
Third Learning Outcome: Participants will investigate how using cultural humility will improve their holistic admissions practices
