Capturing Co-Curricular Learning Through Institutional Validation: Challenges and Opportunities of Managing a Co-Curricular Record
How do university registrars and leaders facilitate innovation around artifacts and verifying student learning beyond the transcript? In this session, presenters will introduce two models of co-curricular records (CCR) implemented at MSU and UC San Diego. Key discussion will include critical processes which support these CCRs to create a verifiable record, competency frameworks, data on student use, technology, and engaging campus stakeholders with emphasis on the role of the Registrar.
First Learning Outcome: Learn about competency frameworks and co-curricular opportunity criteria which shape the review process at Michigan State University and UC San Diego to ensure integrity and rigor of the student record
