Messy?…yes it is. Time consuming?…absolutely. Collaborative decision making and shared responsibility across departments can be messy and time consuming. However, working collaboratively in cross-functional teams can create a system of accountability and improve institutional practices. Without a collaborative and “shared-responsibility” approach, the best laid strategic plan never reaches its goals.
