Integration of Dual Enrollment and Admissions Recruiting Staff
Category
Session
Description
The College of Southern Idaho (CSI) has a robust Early College Program that oversees more than half of the student population for the college. Those students are dual enrollment students, utilizing state funding to pursue formative experiences in high school while they chase their dreams of higher education. CSI is currently working on a plan to integrate the dual enrollment (Early College) unit with the Admission and Recruitment arm of the college in an attempt to develop a holistic process for interacting with high school students while providing them formative experiences that lead to matriculation.
In this session we will discuss the transformation that has been undertaken, including the merger of two units, the establishment of leadership practices, the implementation of change management, and the challenges present in reshaping the culture of each unit to focus on integration. We will further discuss the integration of a purposeful communications plan with high school teachers, counselors and administrators. The aim of the communication plan is to reinforce a positive image for our institution, and to establish relationships that support the mission of the college and the secondary partners.
Finally, this session will provide an overview of the data tacking mechanisms in place to track the effectiveness of our new model over time.
