Preparing Students for Academic Success in Study Abroad: From Course Approval Forms to Credit Transfer
Category
Session
Description
Study abroad pre-departure orientations rarely give sufficient attention to preparing students for the academic credit challenges they will encounter in study abroad. Adequate preparation should include coverage of credit and grade conversion differences, as well as differences in concepts of full course loads, grade appeal processes, assessment approaches, and expectations of independent study. This session will examine institutional practices that contribute to students' academic success.
