Ms Kristy Goodwin

Director, College Pathways Program at Governors State University

Vice President for Admissions and Enrollment Management Position Statement

I have worked in Enrollment Management for 19 years serving in many capacities. In Admissions & Recruitment, I have worked my way up learning and implementing what works best in this arena, which is customer service. As a Senior Recruiter, I connected with many students and institutions, delivering best practices and creative strategies that were adopted by others in the field who saw its benefits. As a Director within Enrollment Management, I worked beside, created, and learned from some of the best-tenured administration and executives. My reputation is said to be "one who gets the job done and who has stellar connectivity within her institution and the contiguous communities."

In my various roles, I was allowed to create sessions, workshops, and other professional development opportunities for my colleagues, students, parents, and faculty to help guide and inform best practices and self-development. I have collaborated and worked with executive teams to strategize and creatively implement initiatives to enhance the forementioned practices in admissions and enrollment. Although I don't consider myself to know everything, I stay connected to the emerging trends and issues related to this arena while keeping the heartbeat of the student's perspective, which can get lost in the process in the process. I collaborate with various people, teams, and institutional researchers to keep me informed on the interior trends, which helps to create new strategies and initiatives for change and growth.

I understand the importance of professional development for self and others. Learning and seeing from others within and outside the U.S. opens a fresh approach to whatever normalcy our institution recycles. Professional Development encourages networking opportunities to help your goals and recalibrates certain traditions.

As a member of AACRAO for over 15 years, I bring to this position knowledge, professionalism, loyalty, dependability, and collaboration. I am a team player, as well as a team supporter. I understand the premise of admissions and enrollment, and I know that I would bring a fresh approach and passion for what this position requires.
