Looking Beyond the Mention of Race: The Future of Campus Tours

Description
Utilizing Critical Race Theory, this qualitative comparative case study sought to examine how traditional and alternative campus tours addressed race through Critical Discourse Analysis. Six Latinx high school student interviews were conducted and revealed that the acknowledgment race in a campus tour was important to their college choice process and sense of belonging. Additionally, this study emphasized the importance of extensively referencing student of color resources on campus during a tour.
