Description
Twenty percent of the U.S. population lives in rural areas, & 50 percent of U.S. school districts are also in rural areas. Yet most institutions focus their recruitment efforts on urban populations. With tight budgets & limited resources, how can we better serve this population? We’ll share why rural students should be included in your institution’s diversity goals, & how Swarthmore College has increased its rural & small town applications by 57 percent with its Small Towns at Swarthmore initiative.
