Description
A team of three were pulled together from within the institution to review and determine actions required to ensure SAIT readiness for enrolment management.
We recognized that without communication and collaboration across the campus, we would have limited success.
A Steering Committee was struck incorporating 13 members at the management level across the institution. Following that, 6 sub-committees were created and they too were cross-institutional. Each sub-committee consists of a Chair or Co-Chairs and 10 – 15 other members. Our six sub-committees cover the following topics: Student Communications, Recruitment & Marketing, Retention & Completion, Growth-Targets & Rightsizing, Space Optimization and Admission & Selection.
With all of this activity underway, we recognized that we needed an official SEM plan and reached out to AACRAO Consulting and obtained the services of an AACRAO Senior Consultant. Inviting our consultant to campus, we set up a series of meetings with various individuals across the institute whereby she collected our current state of readiness for SEM.
When reviewing the consultant's findings, it was found that we were SEM ready. With being SEM ready, our consultant recommended six quick wins. One of our biggest quick wins is the creation of a new SAIT Welcome Centre to hopefully be open in January 2020. We are reviewing and working on the other 5 recommendations along with our identified goals within our SEM plan.
