Description
How can digital student records help your students better understand what they are learning, where they are learning it, and help them leverage that learning during and after college? Digital records have moved beyond mere PDF versions of the transcript. New forms, comprehensive learner records (CLRs) are emerging and being used to capture, record and share learning data. These are not transcript replacements but additional student records that are focused on what a student learns in college, not what is taken. They can include learning outside the classroom, as well as highlight the learning outcomes of courses and programs.
This session will present a brief overview of the landscape today and then provide an example from the University of North Texas, which is partnering with North Central Texas College to create a shared, digital comprehensive learner record (CLR). Using their learning management system, they are able to "badge' individual learning experiences and share the data on them across the two institutions.
