Description
The University of Florida implemented micro-grants several years ago. Information about the utilization, evolution and success of these grants will be shared. For fall 2019, changes were made to the timing of financial aid awarding based on new or continuing status. The impacts of these changes and the communication strategies will be discussed. In addition, the utilization of grants to remove Parent PLUS loans from packages for neediest students was implemented. This session will also examine new initiatives in the financial aid landscape including Income Sharing Agreements, proposed legislation regarding loans and the push toward success grants. This session will be a strategic discussion for those who are not necessarily financial aid experts.
