Growing Professional Competencies: Metamorphosis in the Registrar's Office
Category
Universal > Session
Description
When there is a major shift in our approach to our work, real metamorphosis can take place! While change can be difficult, it can also create an environment where staff are invited to rise to the challenge of growing their professional competencies and in being recognized for that. A major shift in our institution's approach to using our Student Information System meant that we moved back to a baseline system and the Registrar's Office programmers were moved to IT central. This new approach and reorganization created space for additional opportunities where staff development and further realignment of working groups could take place. Office layout changes were made to support that and make a statement about what was taking place. And staff who never felt they could ask questions are now proud to show competency in the depth and breadth of their work. We look forward to sharing with you our story about an investment in growing staff professional competencies and aligning meaningful work.
