The Next Big Jump in Technology and Standards
Category

Description
Through partnerships with AACRAO, ARUCC, SPEEDE, and GDN and with its Membership, PESC is facilitating the next big jump in technology and standards. Technologies such as JSON, (JavaScript Object Notation), Request and Response standards for all PESC Approved Standards, EdExchange and GEO CODE will be explained. This session will discuss how all four major initiatives working in concert, forming the two underlying pillars of interoperability – open data standards (content) and an open, neutral platform on which to exchange them – will elevate the higher education community to the next level of technology, scalability and interoperability, along with enabling a more web service-friendly environment. An update on the Canada-wide eTranscript initiative will also be provided.
