  • Scaling Credit for Prior Learning: Building Equitable, Transfer-Connected CPL Systems Across Colleges

California Community Colleges are transforming Credit for Prior Learning from isolated practices into coordinated, student-centered systems. This session explores scalable models for CPL counseling, faculty evaluation, transcription, transfer considerations, and technology integration through the statewide MAP Initiative. Participants will gain practical strategies for aligning CPL practices with mobility, equity, workforce learning, and transfer pathways.

Learning Outcome 1) Design a student-centered CPL ecosystem that integrates counseling, admissions, articulation, faculty, and technology functions into cohesive institutional practice

Learning Outcome 2) Apply scalable frameworks from California's statewide MAP Initiative to improve transparency, consistency, and interoperability across CPL intake, evaluation, and transcription processes

Learning Outcome 3) Identify operational strategies that address equity gaps for adult learners, veterans, apprentices, and workforce learners by connecting CPL policy to student mobility and support services
