Managing Complex Curricular Changes in General Education: A Case Study
As part of the University System of Georgia (USG)’s mandated refresh of the general education curriculum, Georgia Tech undertook a comprehensive review and revision of its general education requirements across all its Bachelor of Science (BS) programs. Along the way, the effort uncovered unexpected challenges and insights that were both inspiring and demanding. This session will explore how strong collaboration among academic affairs leadership, faculty governance, and the Registrar’s Office enabled the institution to successfully implement these significant changes, ultimately laying the groundwork for continued academic innovation and institutional resilience.
