This session explores how institutions can better support transfer students by recognizing the inherent strengths they already possess. Grounded in Yosso’s Community Cultural Wealth, we’ll examine strategies to shift from deficit-based to asset-based practices that honor students’ lived experiences and cultural capital, enhancing recruitment, engagement, and retention across all transfer pathways.
