Vice President at Large Position Statement


As an individual, a professional, and a member of AACRAO, I have always sought out many different experiences.  In my professional position, I wear primary two hats.  I’m both the Director of Admissions and the College Registrar at my institution. When people outside the profession ask me what I do, I often reply that I help people get into college, and I help people get out.  My role truly does encompass the full student lifecycle from prospect to graduate.

Unlike many around me, I like committee work.  I also love a good policy.  I’ve served on many State and professional committees over my career where looking at policy or procedure is the primary goal.  I’m currently serving on a policy review committee for all admissions and registrar-related policies at the Tennessee Board of Regents.  I’ve also served in leadership roles related to the examination, development, and implementation of business practices.

The creation of the Vice President at Large for the AACRAO Board was meant to allow for an expansion of special projects and unique opportunities which fell outside of the normal portfolios.  That’s exactly where I like to be.  I love to take on the special projects.  I love to implement new things.  I enjoy being a change agent.  I also like to help find the connection that brings things together.

I hope you will give me the opportunity to continue my service to AACRAO in this role.  I believe in our association and the good it does, not just for the members, but for higher education as a whole, and most importantly, our students.
