Jacqueline Carter
Registrar and Student Affairs Advisor at Washington University in St. Louis
President-Elect Position Statement
My name is Jacqueline Carter and I have over twenty years of higher education experience in the areas of Registrar, Student Affairs, Academic Advising, Student Development Advocate and Diversity and Inclusion. My foundation is access and equity which is way I operate in both my personal and professional day to day life. I profoundly believe if we make things equitable for all everyone will benefit, one of the areas should be in education. I strive to remove barriers that prevents us from reaching our potential whether it is at institution or within AACRAO. I’ve spent most of my time in AACRAO in trying to build membership engagement, recruitment and mentoring whether it was creating session, facilitating presentation or just providing advocacy or leadership. I am leader who prefers to operate with partnership mentality. It will be an honor to continue the strong legacy of past and present AACRAO President Leaders and continue to bring awareness that confronts the higher education system and our profession. We must possess clarity, courage and resiliency. As the President, I will rely on these characteristics to create an environment that permeates positivity and a successful experience for our students on the campus but for our colleagues as well. We must collaborate to cultivate and transform our environment to a culture of inclusion. I will be voice for the voiceless and shed light on the “invisible”.
To serve AACRAO and our members is a privilege I do not take lightly, “to whom much is given, much is required”. I have received an abundance from AACRAO and it is my duty to give back.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of this role.
