Nominations and Elections Committee Position Statement

I have fifteen years of successful student affairs work experience in a variety of departments, including registration and records, admissions and advising.  I have a passion for student success and I want to continue to grow as a professional to more effective in my role and at my institution.  I possess excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 

I have truly enjoyed the various opportunities I've had within my state organization and am looking forward to becoming more involved in AACRAO - beyond attending the annual meetings.  Currently, at the state level I serve as the Professional Development Committee chair where I plan the New Member Social along with organizing sessions for our annual conference.  In the past, I have chaired and served on the Records and Registration Committee.  I have presented at our annual conference on Building Relationships and Leadership 101.  I also continue to look for new ways to get more members involved at the state and national level as it is the members that make the organization grow.  I was honored two years ago to serve as the Co-Chair of Volunteers for the Minneapolis Annual Meeting, which was a great way to get involved at a National level.  I learned a lot about the organization and could connect with members from across the country.  I believe the Nominations and Elections Committee would be an exciting place to be a part of leadership selection for our organization.  I enjoy serving and I believe my experiences and commitment to AACRAO and higher education would be beneficial to the N&E Committee if I was chosen to serve.  Thank you for your consideration.
