Advancing Transfer Student Equity Through Transcript Obtainment

Obtaining transcripts and receiving a timely transfer credit evaluation are major barriers for applicants who are low-income or from an underrepresented population. Western Governors University sought to remove these barriers through a low-tech request process that uses NSC and Parchment Ordering services to obtain transcripts on the student's behalf with a release.

Over the first 18 months of usage, this service has closed the equity gap from applicants to converted students.
