Explain It To Me Like I'm a Fifth Grader: AACRAO's Credential Innovation Definition Bee
Is the first reaction you have to any conversation about microcredentials, "Huh?!" If so, this session is for you! Credentials Confusion is a huge barrier to advancing work in credential innovation. We can agree that this stuff is important; we just have no shared understandings of what stuff actually means. The first ever Credential Innovation Definition Bee invites attendees to pose perplexing terms to panelists, who compete to offer the clearest definitions in under a minute.
First Learning Outcome: Attendees will learn multiple ways of understanding and simply explaining the jargon that contributes to credential confusion.
Second Learning Outcome: Attendees will learn that their credential confusion is normal and that they are not "behind the curve" in making sense and meaning of the innovative credentials landscape.
Third Learning Outcome: Attendees will learn key differences and distinguishing characteristics of important aspects related to the Registrar role in the LER Ecosystem, which will help them be effective leaders for campus strategy and technology procurement.
