A Primer on O-Level, AS/A-Level and AICE Diploma for Novice Admission Officers and Registrar
Transition into American colleges and universities has been challenging for both American students and international students. It is especially true for marginalized student populations from around the globe (Tinto, 2015, Braxton, 2016). This session will present the processes for assisting the students in navigating their advance standing coursework. The session will be primer on completing course equivalencies to award credit for U.S. Bachelors degree curriculum.
First Learning Outcome: Audiences will learn how to support students of diverse backgrounds from the U.S. and abroad to better transition to their campus and help them complete their degree on-time.
Second Learning Outcome: Audiences will learn how to interpret and articulate Cambridge AICE, IGCSE and AS/A Levels data to university level coursework at U.S. colleges.
Third Learning Outcome: Audiences will Learn how to counsel and advise Cambridge curriculum students from diverse and marginalized backgrounds in West Africa, East Africa and the Indian-Sub-Continent about studying at a U.S. college.
