Building Recruitment and Retention Plans for First-Generation Students
Ramapo College will share the holistic and collaborative strategies implemented to scale and tailor first-generation student recruitment and retention. Over the last four years, Ramapo has doubled the number of first-generation students and increased their retention rate to match the overall excellent rate of 87%. Using a SEM approach, Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Success and Advancement have collaborated to reallocate funds, shift financial aid strategy, increase student support and receive external funding to build a culture of first-generation success.
