[Real Talk for] Black Women In Higher Education
In light of the enduring effects of historical and present-day systemic racism that we need to overcome, navigating higher education as a Black woman poses significant challenges, encompassing both subtle and overt aggressions. The system often demands conformity, which is unacceptable, unsustainable, soul-draining, and detrimental. This session creates space to examine these unrealistic and colonial expectations, their impact on and to us, and reminds us of viable alternatives. Be inspired!
