  • The untapped power of belonging - Increasing enrollment and retention of priority student populations including Black, Transfer, Male, and First Gen students.

Students are stressed and staffs are stretched - is building student belonging the elusive magic formula to achieve enrollment and retention goals? In this panel discussion leaders from within the California State University system, including Dr. David Dufault Hunter, AVP for Enrollment Management at CSU - Northridge; and Dr. Dwayne Cantrell, Associate Vice President and Chief Enrollment Officer, CSU – Bakersfield, will share perspectives on the importance of belonging and talk about their experiences using an innovative peer engagement platform that meets students where they are, requires minimal staff time, and is proven by the largest research trial on a single intervention. The leaders will share their insights on the most significant finding from that study – a large, disproportionate effect on enrollment of key student populations: students of color, first-gen, transfer, and male students.
